Is Propecia 1 mg safe if trying to get pregnant?
September 16th, 2009 | by admin |Hi. My husband was prescribed Propecia by a “Doctor” at Bosley (hair restoration company). We are afraid it will effect our pregnancy planning this year. Anyone know anything? Thanks so much and Merrry Christmas!

Women who are or may potentially be pregnant must not use PROPECIA and should not handle crushed or broken PROPECIA tablets because the active ingredient may cause abnormalities of a male baby’s sex organs. If a woman who is pregnant comes into contact with the active ingredient in PROPECIA, a doctor should be consulted. PROPECIA tablets are coated and will prevent contact with the active ingredient during normal handling, provided that the tablets are not broken or crushed.
So in other words, the hubby can probably take it, but you just need to make sure you never come in contact with it yourself.

You can’t even touch it. It is very dangerous for a pregnant woman.
Read this:
There is no mention about a man taking it while trying to conceive. Give your OBGYN a call and ask them what they think.
Anyway, wouldn’t your husband rather have a healthy baby then hair at this point. He can grow some hair after the baby is here. Why take a chance?

hmm, propecia is known to have awful side effects and can cause birth defects, women should stay away from propecia, not even handle the pill to their men. go to propeciahelp.com and see the people who have had side effects with this pill.
