Erectile dysfunction: kill it before it kills you

Getting to know the basics of erectile dysfunction is important in order to find an effective solution for the problem. A man suffering from erectile dysfunction may also suffer from psychological and physical damage. The causes of this problem maybe better described as psychogenic as the factors responsible for causing the condition can be physical, psychological or other health related issues. Estimates hold that most of the men suffering from this condition are beyond 65 years of age.

If you sit down to count the possible causes of erectile disorder, then even if it takes a lifetime, you will never be able to complete the list. This is because there are a number of factors responsible for causing it. Knowing these causes will be helpful in finding an effective treatment for the problem. There are a number of treatments that are available for the treatment of these conditions. However, it strictly depends on your preference of the type of treatment that you wish to initiate.

The most effective approach for the treating sexual dysfunction is to find out the root cause. Be bold enough to discuss about the problem with your doctor. You don’t have to bother much about it as it not a major problem which cannot be treated. A number of supplements have come in to the picture to help you assist with this problem. The benefit of using this herbal supplement is that it is free from side effects and the result is long lasting. Though it might take time in to notice the changes but it sure pays to be patient. Perseverance is the key to witness effective results!

SSRI sexual side effects?

Due to my anger, panic attacks, and depression I apparently need to take some form of medication. I have been prescribed an SSRI twice, but the first time I quit taking it after only a few days. I quit because I noticed I could not get an erection. I then did some research and found out that erectile dysfunction can be caused by SSRIs and can also be permanent even after treatment has stopped. I got another prescription since I am just getting worse, but I can’t bring myself to take it knowing that the effects may be long-lasting. Is there any information about these effects that maybe I haven’t come across? I’m completely torn between potentially not having panic attacks daily and the risk of sexual dysfunction. Thank you!!

Our emotional extremes are where we find hurt or pleasure.
Jumping off the diving board can be a great expression of an emotional high … but not if you go crashing into the painfully solid bottom of an empty swimming pool. Such a landing destroys even the greatest of pleasures.

And too, you have to weigh out
Anger-panic attacks-depression that you feel 24/7……….compared to …………5 min. of sexual pleasure

SSRI’s dull the extreme ends of emotion, bringing what you feel more into the center of what you feel.
This doesn’t mean you CAN’T get angry or orgasm. It means it doesn’t dominate your life.

Some depressed people feel so lousy so much of the time that they can come to purpose to find more sexual pleasure just to relieve their “pain”. It can be a chemical thing. Using SSRI’s helps a person to find balance in how they feel physically-emotionally-mentally-sexually.

Consider the whole of your health. If your leg were giving you this much “pain” would you consider wearing a cast for a while to fix a broken bone? SSRI’s can help your whole health by pulling in the extremes for an extended period of time.

SSRI’s timetable goes something like this:
(Sertaline / Zoloft) You take a low dose to begin, and as you do well on it, the dosage becomes increased. Taking it every single day is important because it works to get your own body working.
It isn’t quite like any other medication, because it takes about 3 weeks before you can “feel it” beginning to work. ( Beginning is an important word here.) You continue taking the SSRI daily because it takes a full 3 months before it is working at its full strength. From 3 months how you feel will build bit, by bit, with increasingly gaining control over the negative feelings and urges.
As you can feel even and balanced, your Dr will consider bringing the dosage down again. Most people are able to conclude their use of SSRI’s within about 18mo.

Counseling therapy is important – it’s fully 1/2 your treatment for getting problems under control & re-ordering your life with new lifeskills so these symptoms don’t come back.

Sexual function is not the most important thing in life. Its activity and focus in your life will rise and fall over the decades to come. Consider getting this “illness” – and it is an illness within the brain chemistry – under control so that you can resume your whole life as soon as possible.

What is your mental health worth to you?
