Age Of Conan Updating Content Freezes??

Okay I have no programs running, turned my firewall off, no anti virus is on, and I also have a good comp. But for some reason when updating content, it will randomly freeze for a long long time, then continue, then again, freeze for a long time. What can I do to fix this problem? Also I can’t read in forums because they have not validated my account yet, even though i put in my retail cd key.

I had the same exact problem. I left the updater running all night and wake up to only 46M downloaded. This morning I tried 3 things at once and the patch downloaded fine.

1) Turned off my AV (I was using Trend Micro)
2) Went into the AOC directory and ran ConanPatcher.exe as an administrator (Right click -> Run as Administrator)
3) Opened Task manager under processes and set the priority of conanpatcher.exe to high (Right click -> set priority -> high).

Patch downloaded in under 10 minutes.
